Who we are

What we collect

• Contact and proposal forms: your name, email, and optionally phone, organisation, service of interest, budget range and message.
• Accounts: your name, email, username and an encrypted password, if you register.
• Language preference: a cookie remembering the language you chose (English, Somali or Arabic).
• Technical data: standard server logs needed to run and secure the site. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

Only to respond to your enquiry, prepare proposals you request, manage your account, and keep the site secure. We do not sell or rent personal data.

Storage and security

Data is stored in our own database with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access limited to authorised Datashiil staff. We apply the same data-protection principles we use in our research work, aligned with GDPR as international best practice.

Retention

Enquiries are kept for up to three years unless they lead to a contract, in which case they are kept as part of project records. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@datashiil.com.

Third-party services

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. The project map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Our Facebook feed is loaded from Facebook, which may set its own cookies under Facebook's privacy policy. Share buttons open the respective social network only when you click them.
